Nasty looking smash on Amhurst Rd/Dalston Lane

You can't see it in the picture but it looked like they were still cutting someone out of a car which had crossed the pavement on Amhurst road and smashed through the front of a shop.

I didn't hang around to ask what had happened and, despite being as rubber-necked as the next person, felt a bit uncomfortable taking this picture (which you can enlarge by clicking on it) - it was at about 8.45pm.

Dalston's East London Line opening cancelled

Tory Troll blog reports that the East London Line opening has been cancelled and cites a row over electioneering by Boris Johnson as the reason. He quotes the leader of city hall's labour group saying: "Boris Johnson is in chaos over his stunt to hold an official event using taxpayers' resources during an election campaign."
