Burrowing birds of Hackney

Nestless birds are now using Hackney's concrete clad waterways - joining all those other odd things living on or hunting on the banks of the Lea (or is it Lee). Even Hackney's still waters have a reputation there was this piece in Stoke Newington People about fishing lessons on Victoria Park pond where, I was once told, Kray twin victim Jack the Hat McVitie may have been buried although Wikipedia says his body was chucked off a boat near Newhaven. (The Victoria Park fishing co-ordinator has an interesting name... Grant Fear.)
This nature stuff reminds me that my garden will soon be filling up with fat spiders. May be there'll be few more yellow ones this year too.
